Let’s Play at the Ranch (LPR) Curriculum


We are looking forward to a wonderful LPR session with your students. Each session they will visit animals, do a craft and explore the garden. (https://teamtapper.com)

SR LPR: Session 1

 

Week Main Activity Description
#1 Compost Critter Finger Puppets **see Instructor Prep for Week #2 projects
#2 Sheep Picture / Sleepy Time Sachets
#3 Sleepy Time Sachets / Sheep Picture
#4 Clothespin Dragonfly / Pluffy (Sculpey) Beads
#5 Pluffy (Sculpey) Beads / Clothespin Dragonfly
#6 Salt Dough Animal / Pipe Cleaner Spiders
#7 Pipe Cleaner Spiders / Salt Dough Animal
#8 Streamer wands and ranch parade

 

Weekly Routine:

Arrival Greet students at the benches in the entrance area near the egg/farm stand. First week: make name tags. Optional: have an item in the mystery box for students to feel when they arrive.
Circle Introduce talking object: name, gratitude, nature news, HAZARDS or announcements
Garden Time Water plants by hand with greywater. Visit worms/compost if interested.
Mid-Class Visit at least one animal, complete project, sit on tractor if not in use.
End of Class Closing circle, everyone shares one favorite part of the day and then adds a bead to their name tag necklace. Last week of class– make sure students take name tags home with them.
