We love learning through play! Wildlife tag explores predator and prey relationships.

Class description

Explorer students have the opportunity to try a variety of activities focused on building a deep and meaningful connection to nature. Our core activities include hiking, wilderness skills, animal interaction, wild tending, homesteading skills, cooking, nature based crafts, and seasonal gardening. Ample time is given to exploration, observation, unstructured nature play, and games as well. Each session has a theme and all activities align with seasonal and ecological changes on the ranch and our surrounding natural landscape.

Full Day and Multi-Day (Morning and Afternoon) options involve a fully immersive program with more exploration and more in depth curriculum.

Students in the program are:

  • Ready to be outside in all weather conditions and get dirty
  • Able to listen to verbal directions in an outdoor environment
  • Willing to participate in group activities
  • Able to focus on a project for 20-30 minutes
  • Able to hike minimum one mile with a full backpack
Shelter building is a core skill practiced in our Session 1 Explorers program. Students learn different techniques and explore team building strategies for building shelter.
