Farm Life, Animal Care, Garden Harvest

Foodie Farmer Goat Milking

Spend a week getting to know the animals of Sienna Ranch — chickens, sheep, goats, ducks, and horses. Campers will engage in hands-on activities and complete meaningful chores while learning to care for our animals. Traditional farm experiences include milking goats, making goat milk treats like smoothies and cheese, harvesting from our garden, and crafting with wool from our sheep. Led by staff passionate about both youth and animals, this program fosters respect for living creatures and allows children to experience the timeless joys of ranch life. Our full-day curriculum also includes age-appropriate bonus activities from our afternoon camps, such as woodshop, gardening, and cooking.

*PreK-K campers:

Must be at least 4 years old and fully independent in using the restroom by June 1st, 2025 to enroll. Want to ensure friends are in the same group? Simply select the same camp number (#1 or #2) and you’re all set!

*Food Allergies:

While we do not provide meals for campers, Farm Hands participants work with goat and cow’s milk, and may occasionally enjoy a snack from the garden. At the time of registration, please inform us of any dietary restrictions, particularly regarding eggs, dairy, or wheat. Previous cooking projects have included scrambled eggs, homemade ranch dressing, butter made from heavy cream, crackers (with gluten-free options), goat milk smoothies, goat cheese, fruits, vegetables, and fruit juice popsicles. Please  note any sensitivities or request that your camper not participate in ranch snacks when you complete your camper profile.

Nature Crafts + Outdoor Exploration

Welcome to our Makers Camp! Campers will explore their creativity by working with natural materials like clay, oak galls, corn cobs, and wood – transforming them into exciting projects such as lamps, figurines, darts, and spoons. In between crafting sessions, we’ll venture into the hills surrounding the ranch to track animal signs and build shelters from logs and branches. By the end of the week, campers will take home a collection of unique creations and unforgettable memories. Additionally, they’ll enjoy a fun mix of age-appropriate specialty activities in the afternoons, including woodshop, gardening, cooking, and archery.

They will also get to hike and explore the many hills and valleys of the land. The week will culminate with an all morning hike out to the Sienna Ranch Time Capsule, where campers can add their names and connect to campers from the past. This is the perfect camp for students who love to engage in active play, leadership activities, and group games.

Wilderness Skills, Hiking + Navigation

Surviving in the wild may sound challenging, but with the right skills, it’s an exciting adventure! This camp introduces the essential skills needed for wilderness survival, including shelter building, foraging for food, and purifying water. Campers will engage in activities such as hiking, learning lost-proofing techniques, and enhancing their awareness of the natural world.

Throughout the camp, participants will assemble their own survival kit to take home, and put their navigation skills to the test on a final hike through the beautiful hills surrounding Sienna Ranch.

To make the experience even more enriching, campers will enjoy an age-appropriate mix of fun, hands-on activities from our afternoon camps, such as woodshop, gardening, cooking, and archery. It’s the perfect way to learn essential outdoor skills while having a blast in nature!

Riding, Horsemanship + Nature Connection

This exciting blend of horse activities and nature exploration is perfect for young equestrians who love adventure! Each day is divided between riding lessons and outdoor exploration. Campers will enjoy a daily semi-private riding lesson, alongside instruction in horsemanship fundamentals. They’ll learn about horse care, safety, anatomy, tack, behavior, and herd dynamics through hands-on activities like crafts and games. During nature adventures, campers will play nature games, explore Sienna Ranch’s hills and trails, visit other animals, and practice outdoor skills.

Horses and Heat: It is our goal for campers to experience mounted riding each day, whenever possible, however, If the heat/humidity index is too high for the horses to exercise safely, then we will substitute riding time with other experiential horse-themed activities. Horse-safe footwear requirement

How the Waitlist works:

Before May 1st

If a Sienna Ranch camp is full you can get on our waitlist. You will follow the same steps to add to the waitlist as you would for a open camp. If a spot were to open up the active system sends out individual emails to each family with 2 choices; accept the spot and pay immediately, or reject the spot. If you Accept, the tool stops if that fills the session. If you reject, it will move on to the next family. If the time window of 48 hours expires, then it moves to the next family.

After May 1st

The waitlist policy will switch to send the email to everyone left on the waitlist and the first person to respond via email will get the spot. It will be a pool rather than a ranking list.

  • What happens if a family misses their time window but still want the spot?  If a family misses their time window, they are automatically removed from the waitlist. If they want to be put back on the waitlist, they will need to sign for the waitlist again.
  • What happens if the feature goes through the entire waitlist and there is still a spot open? The spot will automatically be opened up online (if registration is still open) for anyone to sign up!!
