Gardening, seasonal care, & food origins
Students learn the basics of seasonal garden care, with opportunities to practice seeding, transplanting, harvesting, and composting. Students witness the changing of the local crops with the season, how to use them efficiently, reduce food waste, and promote a love of healthy and nutritious foods .
Wild edibles
Each Winter the local hillsides and Oak Woodlands burst to life with wild edibles. Students are taught to responsibly identify and forage a variety of leafy greens that make their way onto our plates as salads or stir frys.
Our Foodie Farmers (K-6th) classes tend to the garden and explore seasonal recipes throughout the school year.
Students in our Nature Classes (PreK-9th) also have the opportunity to harvest and cook in select sessions.
