Empowering stewardship for the future

We inspire and equip young people to become passionate environmental leaders, cultivating the next generation of dedicated land stewards for a sustainable tomorrow.

Mission & vision

Sienna Ranch is a small family-owned business that includes a vibrant community of passionate educators, offering classes as varied as horse riding, archery, wood shop, cooking, pottery, gardening, art, animal education, and wild tending.

Mission

To connect Bay Area youth to nature through compelling outdoor programs to cultivate a more compassionate and environmentally aware future.

Vision

We serve Bay Area youth!

We offer homeschool programs, field trips, afterschool programs, holiday and summer camps, and weekend events. We strive to provide programming that is accessible by maintaining vendor status with charter schools, and striving to maximize the impact of our scholarship program. We strive to be a diverse, equitable, and inclusive space.

We connect youth to nature

We honor nature as our guide as we develop awareness, knowledge, and a sense of belonging in the natural world.

We facilitate compelling outdoor programs

We value small class sizes, experiential learning, empowerment, fun, and the process of creation. Our curriculum prioritizes:

  • Meaningful activities that develop patience, perseverance, independence, dexterity and creativity
  • Unstructured, imaginative, and immersive nature play that develops executive function, healthy interpersonal relationships, and self-confidence
  • Respectful relationships with our animals that develop empathy, compassion, and personal responsibility, as well as animal care skills and knowledge

Our activities fall under Sienna Ranch’s 5 Pillars:

We are cultivating a more compassionate and environmentally aware future

We believe that connections to ourselves, each other, and to the natural world are the foundation upon which youth can build informed and effective responses to the environmental challenges of today and tomorrow.

We strive to use empowering mentorship techniques that acknowledge diverse perspectives when approaching conflict resolution, group decision-making, and behavior management.

We strive to steward this land like we will live forever and mentor each participant so their legacy will be everlasting.
